About Hilary Glann

Hilary Glann is a senior marketing executive with 30 years of experience building, launching, downsizing, and turning around IT businesses, including 13 as a Principal with Ilima Partners.headshoot 6-13

As a Hewlett-Packard marketing Vice President, Hilary grew businesses, redefined product portfolios, revamped channel strategies, and developed new communications plans to improve profitability and market share. Career highlights include enabling dramatic increases in HP’s notebook PC business market share and profitability, and defining and launching new product categories for HP’s network server business.

As a founder of Ilima Partners, Hilary has worked with both large and small technology companies on new product, channel, communications and partnership initiatives; she has also worked in interim marketing vice president positions for both emerging and mature technology companies in both commercial and consumer product categories.  Highlights include:

  • Developing an extensive sales enablement curriculum for the commercial and enterprise sales representatives of a large IT hardware provider
  • Developing a  communications strategy and deliverables for a new ISV program in a major enterprise software provider
  • Conducting messaging and concept development workshops with a variety of IT companies
  • Leading a comprehensive product and solutions roadmap exercise for  a commercial printer company to support growth in emerging markets
  • Enabling companies who have gone through acquisitions, mergers or downsizing to improve employee morale and productivity through standardization of core marketing processes and deliverables
  • Enabling a company providing consumer products for seniors to improve its online messaging, marketing and shopping experiences, resulting in a 40% sales increase in 11 months
  • Developing core messaging and supporting sales and customer content deliverables for a large hardware and software provider’s first Big Data initiative
  • Evaluating new channel opportunities for a web services company targeting small businesses.

Hilary received her bachelor’s degree with honors from Stanford University and her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University).

About Skyles Runser

With 25 years of industry experience, including 13 as a Principal of Ilima Partners, Sky Runser has helped established enterprises as well as start-ups address a wide variety of business and marketing challenges. Sky has developed marketing strategies; developed and led major, cross-functional launches for new brands, products, service-offerings and companiskyles 7-09es; driven customer acquisition campaigns, created customer reference strategies and tools, and conducted audits of sales tools and assets. He has created content for, and worked with, sales forces, customers, press/analyst representatives and  channel/alliance partners ranging from System Integrators to ISVs to OEMs to Corporate Resellers.  Additionally, Sky has led messaging and positioning strategy and testing; developed channel strategies and business plans; developed Website strategy and review; and converted of highly technical information into readable sales materials directed at Line of Business buyers.

Prior to that, Sky served as both an operating executive and senior management consultant during his past 16 years in Silicon Valley and overseas. At Hyperion Solutions, where he served as Director, Web, Sky’s teams drove numerous, award-winning launches to support corporate goals. Prior to that, Sky served as Director, Netscape.com for AOL-TimeWarner, where his teams drove record levels of revenue, registrations and retention for AOL Web Properties and where he also held several positions in market- and business-development. Sky also worked in product marketing at Quantum Corp. (notebook and desktop disk drive storage devices). At both Quantum and Netscape Sky worked with and for sales organizations to deliver marketing programs that met sales needs and drove revenue and profit growth. At A.T. Kearney, the global management consulting firm, Sky drove multiple industry benchmarking studies to identify best practices and increase client profitability, as well as worked on a global sourcing initiative with a major auto manufacturer’s Latin American operations.

Sky received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University) where he was a Rothschild Scholar and his Bachelors Degree, cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
